USE:

1. Use Practice to attempt to acquire a new Skill or Spell.
2. Learn is a synonym for Practice.

Usually, when your character gains a level some quantity of new practices becomes available. One of these is expended with each use of the Practice command.

Use Practice to ask an NPC to work with you to teach you a particular Skill. For a list of Skills which any particular character will teach you, if any, type "skills <character name>", while you're in the same room as the character.

Because the command is enabled for "natural language" parsing, you can use all kinds of variations and still be understood. "Practice chilltouch with the emaster", "practice chilltouch with the second master", "practice chilltouch 2nd emaster", "practice chilltouch 2.master", and many others will all do fine.
