Purpose: donate some item from your inventory to the community of characters.

USE:

1. Use form one when there's no possible ambiguity. In the example, you're only carrying one box in your inventory.
2. Use form two or three when more information is needed to interpret the command — that is, there's more than one possible item by the same name to which the command could be applied. In the example, you're carrying a small box, a large box, etc.

4. Use form four when there are many instances of <thing> in your inventory, and you want to donate one of them in particular.
5. Use form five when you want to donate everything in your inventory. A truly generous deed we might add. Note the Donate All command does NOT donate your money.

Note that items must be currently in your inventory to be donatable. If you're wearing something, you'll have to remove it before you can donate it. You can't donate an item in the room without getting it first.

When you donate an item, it's transported immediately directly to the Donation Room on Sanctuary Island, where it can be made use of by any lower-level character who wants it. You don't have you carry that item to the Donation Room: it gets there by itself.

Donation is an altruistic action, intended to help other folks. You have other alternatives, such as simply dropping an item you don't want anymore. There are some schools of thought which believe donation brings rewards, subtle or otherwise. Scholars and historians debate this question from time to time.

Not every item is necessarily donatable. You may find you're unable to donate some particular thing. As with all commands, the Game Channel will record the outcome of your action.
