USE:
- Use form one when there's no possible ambiguity. In the example, there's only one bottle in your inventory, and only one fountain in the current room.
- Use form two when more information is needed to interpret the command — that is, there's more than one possible receptacle and source by the same names to which the command could be applied. In the example, there's a blue bottle, a red bottle, etc. in your inventory; a big fountain, a small fountain, etc. in the room.
- Use form three when more information is needed to interpret the command — that is, there's more than one possible receptacle by the same name to which the command could be applied. In the example, there's a blue bottle, a red bottle, etc. in your inventory. Note that you don't type the parentheses, which are shown here to demonstrate the logic which Fill will attempt to employ.
- Use form four when more information is needed to interpret the command — that is, there's more than one possible source by the same name to which the command could be applied. In the example, there's a big fountain, a small fountain, etc. in the room. Note that you don't type the parentheses, which are shown here to demonstrate the logic which Fill will attempt to employ.
- Use form five when there are many instances of <receptacle> in your inventory, and you want to fill one of them in particular.
- Use form six when there are many instances of <source> in the room, and you want to fill from one of them in particular.
- Use form seven when there are many instances of <receptacle> in your inventory, many instances of <source> in the room, and you want to use particular ones of each.
The receptacle which you fill may be in your inventory or the Room. It's not necessary for the receptacle to be completely empty; Fill will top-off a partly full container.
Only liquid containers can be filled. That is, you can't fill a cardboard box, etc.
There are many conditions which could prevent you from being able to fill a particular receptacle. The Game channel will inform you of the outcome of your command.
The Dungeon parser has limited NLP capability. You can successfully use "fill the bottle from the fountain", for example.
