Purpose: control Natural Language Parsing servicesSynonyms: none
SYNTAX | EXAMPLE | NATURAL LANGUAGE EXAMPLE |
---|---|---|
nlp on | nlp on | turn nlp on |
nlp off | nlp off | turn nlp off |
USE:
- Use form one to turn Natural Language Parsing on.
- Use form two to turn Natural Language Parsing off.
The GUIs provide a menu item under the Preference menu for setting these controls. The NLP command is provided for MUD clients and telnet, although anyone of course is welcome to use it.
Because the command is enabled for "natural language" parsing, you can use all kinds of variations and still be understood — assuming you haven't turned NLP off. "Turn nlp on", "turn on nlp", "use nlp", "start using natural language parsing" and "nlp on" will all do fine.
Note that we highly recommend leaving NLP. It's on by default, and it would be a rare situation when you'd want to turn it off. NLP won't interfere with the "canonical" command syntax, so as you become a power user you're free to transition to the shorter commands without having to choose between modes. Usually everyone leaves it on.
