USE:

  1. Use form one when there's no possible ambiguity. In the example, there's only one guard in the current room.
  2. Use form two or three when more information is needed to interpret the command — that is, there's more than one possible target by the same name to which the command could be applied. In the example, there's a tall guard, a short guard, a skinny guard, etc.
  3. Use form two or three when more information is needed to interpret the command — that is, there's more than one possible target by the same name to which the command could be applied. In the example, there's a tall guard, a short guard, a skinny guard, etc.
  4. Use form four when there are many instances of <target> present, and you want to draw an illness from one of them in particular.

When you successfully "draw" an illness from the body of a sufferer, that illness is completely removed from that person or animal. Usually that's a good thing. Note however these two consequences:

  1. The sufferer from whom the illness is removed does not develop an immunity to the illness - as would happen if the illness were allowed to run its course. This means that the sufferer could possibly contract that same illness again in the future.
  2. Unless you yourself are previously immune to the illness being drawn, you'll take that illness into your own body — becoming immediately sick. This may or may not be wise. Caution is advised.

There are many conditions which could prevent you from being able to draw an illness from a particular target. You may be too tired, or paralyzed, or unable to perceive the target. You may be insufficiently skilled in the DrawIllness Skill. The Game channel will inform you of the outcome of your command.

As with many other TriadCity commands, your expertise with the DrawIllness Skill will determine how effective your attempts to use the DrawIllness command will be.

DrawIllness is a Healer Role command only.

Because the command is enabled for "natural language" parsing, you can use all kinds of variations and still be understood. "Drawillness HeadColdNoFever-2 from the second guard", "draw illness HeadColdNoFever-2 from the 2nd guard", "draw illness HeadColdNoFever-2 2nd guard", "drawillness HeadColdNoFever-2 2.guard" and many others will all do fine.
