TriadCity's object database has been ported to
LDAP. LDAP, the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol,
is typically used to manage information about people, such
as user IDs, passwords, and e-mail addresses. We use it for
those purposes also: this is how your SmartMonsters account
information is stored. But it's also an excellent, free,
and very fast database for Java objects, which will result
in better performance for the Triad game servers, plus easier
maintenance for us. Yay!
