Some players have had trouble with 404-error messages when trying to look at some of the pop-up signs.

Make sure you have Javascript turned on! And you should have no further troubles.

Bumping this very old topic to update with later info.

Sammie (hi Sammie!!) is talking about the Web-based GUI client you can use from the TriadCity Web site. When you use the Android client, the iOS client, or your favorite MUD client, signs don't pop up. Instead they're automatically translated for you to appear as text in your game window - the same place where all other descriptions appear.

I wanted to point this out since I believe most of us these days are using mobile clients or a MUD client.

Oops I'm wrong about the mobile clients! They do pop-up signs, but, there's no need to enable JavaScript. Signs are translated only for MUD clients. You only need JavaScript for the Web client.

I think you need JavaScript or the Web client won't work at all.
