Now that our dreams are about to be a reality, it's time to playtest this new feature and get some feedback started! I have a few ideas before I even try them out:

1. I assume from the brevity of the examples that the dream text represents the remembered dream events and not the entire dream. How about making the length of the dream (i.e. how much of it one remembers clearly) a function dependent on the dreamer's wisdom?

2.Interactivity; random, helpless dreams that leap from one non-sequitur to the next do occur, there are also dreams in which the dreamer is at least momentarily lucid. How about throwing in some points that may occur in a dream in which a situation is presented and the dreamer makes a choice which determines the rest of the dream, for instance: (A shimmering door beckons your hands and the voice of your father rings like steel. Open it or flee?) or better yet, at some points the dream could operate as other traidcity rooms do, with lookable objects and dream characters who, like the dream, are randomly selected based on the day's events. Once again, these infrequent occurences could be based on wisdom.

3. I know this has been said before, more than once, but Role-based skills using dreams! The ability to enter the dreams of others, cause restful or restless sleep, write all or part of a sleeper's dream, act lucidly in one's own dreams, and possibly get hints to recently encountered puzzles in one's dreams, all of these could be just a few skills for a dream-based Role or any role with that capacity if a new Role is too much(healers/malopaths, for instance)

4. More continuity - maybe it was just the examples I saw, but many of the dreams were such that if someone asked me "what happened in your dream last night?", I would have no clue what to tell them, even if I remembered it perfectly. More sensory descriptions and events which logically follow would be nice, creating dreams which can be described. While not all dreams are describabable, they do happen with a good deal of frequency. Again, maybe continuity could be influenced by the wisdom of the dreamer.

that's it for me! anyone else have any thoughts?

No thoughts on this, except I agree with much of what you say, but do you still have your anti gravity pack for sale as detailed on your player page? If so I'd be interested. lupin.

Also the complete infrastructure of Freud's theory of dream-formation: displacement, condensation, repression, etc.

But, not right now. The dreams you've seen examples of are one simple type which are intended to add flavor to the game experience and also to give players something to look at while sleeping. All of the enhancement ideas are brilliant but are necessarily down the road.

Just setting expectations!

Bartle quotiet: E80, A67, S47, K7. TriadCity characters: Mark, Poobah, Occam, Abelard.
