Could you please allow us to change equipment during combat? Perhaps it takes a round or two of combat to do the changing, but if you run out of ammo with one m-16, you should be able to switch it out for a sword.

Also, if the cost of fixing the dev machine is a problem, I could help out.

I don't think you'll be happy learning of the cost of fixing the dev machine. Many, many thanks though for the very generous offer.

The grownup violence system will automatically switch weapons for you when one becomes unusable for any reason. Out of ammo, broken, disarmed, etc. etc. But in all honesty violence code isn't a big priority, I'd personally rather get other stuff in first.

(What happened to the suggestion BBS? )

I can be more out of character here, it would seem odd for characters to suggest code changes to their world. I know all about fixing computers, my clan on Call of Duty is having some big problems with machines going down, Chernobyl spilled a sprite into the top fan on his $4000 computer and ruined the whole thing, and Luminox's motherboard burned up. What exactly was wrong with it?

Unknown, still. Fails the DAC test at boot, probably a bad motherboard. Mostly it would be good if they'd hurry the $*@(#@)# up!

My friend Luminox owns a computer business, I might be able to pick you up an AMD 2500+ processor for around 75$ I think. I'll talk to him later if thats what you need.

Much appreciated. We really need our dev box alive, though. It's pretty tough to match up OS, database versions, source control, and all the other stuff required. The software and time are the real expenses. I'm just whinging because they're taking so friggin' long!

It turned out to be a wonky PCI riser connecting the RAID card to the motherboard; and a melted(!) CPU caused by fan failure caused by dust. Moral: clean your computers.

Other moral: don't let vendor sales reps sell you new computers when the old one is fixable.
