Before integrating these BBS into the broader website, I hadn't realized how many duplicate and triplicate accounts people have created. This'll be a problem when creating new PMs: which "Jane Doe" should I send it to, when Jane has four accounts?
This may be because they've forgotten their existing login info and we've never provided them a way to recover it. So, password and account recovery will be the next thing I work on once BBS integration is complete. [Edit: done.] Also we'll need a way to transfer TC characters between SM accounts, so that people can consolidate and eliminate their redundant SM accounts. [Edit: done.]
I've already made it impossible to create additional accounts with the same email address. Going forward, member IDs and emails must be unique.

Remarkable what a complete POS the JForum code base is, where POS does not stand for "Point of Sale".

no blowing up. all controls work as expected without errors.
formatting correct. all pages display inside the SmartMonsters menus.
user names. all names displayed as first, last - no member IDs displayed.
permissions. if you're not me, you should not see or be able to access administrator controls; if you're not gary or lisa you should not see or be able to access moderator controls.
access control to fora. if you're not a TC builder, you should not see or be able to access the builder's forum; ditto game wardens, etc.
