Having a good trawl about the site earlier a couple of *really* simple ideas popped to mind, that I thought I would share:

1. Why not have amazon links to other country sites?
I am in the UK and it is just not worth me buying from amazon.com because of shipping (although I am a regular of amazon.co.uk). I don't think that Amazon let you combine affiliate accounts, but if TC gets the recognition it deserves then I am sure that there will be visitors from all over the world. If someone was feeling adventurous the links could even direct a player to their "local" Amazon store.

2. Why not have an extra section in the links area for voting resources. I found the game through mpogd.com and I have also seen it listed on rpggateway.com . Some of these sites get good traffic and giving us all a place to go to add the votes could bring in more players.

OK, I'll stop giving the egg sucking lessons now and shut up!

Thanks Fairfax. You're totally right about links to international amazons, and I don't think anybody among "the Gods" had thought about that at all. (So you're smarter than the Gods...not that that's hard to be! LOL.)

It's not *quite* so trouble-free to implement, though. I'll have to do some locale-testing, that is, have our Web server figure out what country you're in, and then serve links to the appropriate affiliate. Everything on the site is dynamically-generated, so that's certainly do-able...it's just more work. I'll raise it with my colleages and we'll figure out how to prioritize it.

Re suggestion #2, there sortof is something like that at the bottom of the page called "Reviewers' Guide". We'll expand the list of sites included there as we get to it; meanwhile many thanks for suggesting others we should know about. I'm not sure that's exactly the same as what you're suggesting, but it seems close.

Many many thanks for taking the time to think about these things, very much appreciated!

Smarter than the gods huh? I'll add that to my resume first think Monday ;?)

Re: Amazon
Why not ask players which store is closest to them during sign-up rather than trying to figure it out from a huge list of countries? If it is not answered it could just default to .com, who deliver pretty much everywhere (for a cost) anyway.

It is a bit of a simplistic approach, but at least it would not detract from all the important stuff (coding new goodies for us) for as long.

Re: Voting links
I have quite a collection of these bookmarked on my other computer. I'll try to remember to copy them here sometime soon. Again hopefully this could save you a bit of time.
