A note for those who file taxes in the USA: changes to the 2026 tax law allow charitable contributions to be deducted without having to itemize. Even if you take the standard deduction, you can deduct up to $1,000 (single filers) or $2,000 (married filing jointly) of your cash gifts to qualified charities - now including TriadCity, thanks to our fiscal sponsor, Fractured Atlas.
Donations today are especially timely. If we're able to raise the bucks, they'll support an important, ambitious new project: accessible authoring tools for blind authors. Today, 80% ish of our active players self-identify as blind or visually impaired. Unfortunately, our richly sophisticated authoring tools are completely inaccessible. Around 25% of the TriadCity game world is contributed by player-authors with wonderful ideas, including the Noir Days speakeasy, the Asylum, the Motorcycle Club, the Exclusion Zone, and other popular neighborhoods. But, because the authoring tools are inaccessible, 0% of the world is contributed by blind authors. Fixing this will not be cheap.
At the same time, contributions will help keep TriadCity free for all players. They'll offset server costs and other runtime expenses which today are only partially covered by our "freemium" payment model.
Tax-deductible contributions are made through Fractured Atlas, a nonprofit arts service organization. Use the link to contribute. A monthly recurring gift is especially helpful: $25 a month is tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law, and adds up to real server time. Note: we're game designers, not accountants, so check with your tax person when you do your planning.
Thank you! We are truly grateful for your support.
