There's a lot here. I've only scratched the surface. I'll post replies as I learn more.
There's a LOT of exp from exploration. Signs, paintings, merchants, NPCs. Exp is double right now, but I gained 2k in a few minutes from simply exploring. Don't wear your stealth gear if you want the exp.
This should be rich hunting for high-level Thieves. The NPCs are carrying mega Dinars. But, they're high-level NPCs, and I've been unable to Steal from many. Some I couldn't even Peek. Fortunately no offended NPC has so far attacked me when I rudely tried to ruffle their pockets.
There are several layers of interaction between NPC types and (potentially) us players. Rich tourists in the nightclubs; poor painters; anarchist militants; veterans of the Commune; police spies; pickpockets; vendors selling roasted chestnuts, berets, bread. There's a conflict implied between supporters and opponents of the Commune, but I haven't found how or if that plays out.
The main streets suggest different income levels. Pigalle is very poor, where the streetwalkers go. Clichy has the tourist nightclubs. Sauls and Lepic seem to be more locals.
At night the whole area swarms with NPCs, coming from all around the City (I think) to party in the nightclubs.
I find no sign of CityNet. None. Seems to be the Wild West up there.
