When you create a new character you enter a Name and a Gender, set stats and then there's one button to begin. It then asks for a login name and password. Well, what password is it asking for? We were never asked to create a password for the character, just name and gender. If one puts their smartmonster account pw in the field it doesn't work. And you cannot leave it empty as the button cannot be used until something is in the field.

Just noticed this is only for forum bugs.

Looked around for where to submit TC bugs but didn't find it. There's this page:

But there' s no option to submit a new bug...

There's just one PW for your SmartMonsters account and TriadCity characters. You login to TC with that. From your description, sounds like a typo somewhere.

No, it accepts that pw, the window asking for it goes away and leaves you on this page:

https://www.smartmonsters.com/TriadCity/Players/TriadPlayer.jq.jsp

Which has Character, Game and Chat windows, with Health and Energy bars, etc. But it all remains blank, the bars empty, no text comes up, no character name, etc. Just sits there doing nothing, getting no data.

I use Chrome for the browser and have enabled all scripts. I then tried Firefox and enabled all scripts, but with Firefox I doesn't get as far. I log in and get:

Greetings Tom! You are now logged-in.

Then I click on the Visit TriadCity now icon and it goes to a page saying I have to log in first. And around and around it goes logging in and being asked to log in first, never getting anywhere.

I've just tested with Firefox and Chrome with no problems.

Do you have cookies turned off?

(Mark & Gary FYI, Firefox complains about a certificate. You have to accept the security exception.)

I checked chrome. It only has third party cookies blocked. Tried allowing them too but that didn't fix things.

Tom, if you're ok with this I can reset your password and try logging in to your account. That'll help me see what's up. Alright with you?

Sure, that's fine.

Cool. I reset your account password, used the new password to login to the web site with FF, and had no trouble logging in to TriadCity with your character Brazyn. All seems to be well.

So my guess is that something in your environment is not right. Lisa's correct that being asked to login over and over points to a cookie not being set. It might be that your browser's security settings are blocking the necessary cookie; that would make sense.

Note that to continue to test you'll need to reset your password back to something you know. You can do that from the Account tab of the web site.
