over the next little while i'll be layering in new npc attack triggers which i haven't gotten around to before.
this doesn't mean that formerly nonaggressive npcs will leap out and kill you. rather, that if you do things to them they'll be more likely to respond than they were before.
examples include all the new malopath commands. but also failed stealing, and in some cases even failed peeking. remember that if you offend somebody they might smack you one!
