I learned the learn skill, and now have level 7 in Flee and Meditate.I am currently Level 8, but I haven't anywhere near enough practices to upgrade my Flee and Meditate skills to L8. In fact I have only 7 available practices. What should I do? Is there a way of gaining extra practices at all, other than those automatically awarded when levelling? Advice please!

Hello Lupin:

Unfortunately the only way to gain new practices is to level. New practices are awarded automatically at that moment.

It's important to maximize your intelligence attribute at the moment you level -- this'll cause you to gain more practices. It's also important to maximize it while learning: you'll use fewer practices on average.

The Herbalist in the White Plaza sells herb packages which increase intelligence (make sure to wear them only when you need them because they wear out over time). You can also buy spectacles from Justine (I think) which raise your intelligence. And there's "smart juice" from the Smart Bar in the gray plaza: drink that just before you level or learn, it raises your intelligence very briefly.

Furthermore, you can save practices overall by only updating your skills every few levels. a skill jumps from master level 6 to master level (whatever you are at the time) in just one successful practice, no matter what your level is .

That's a smart approach. But be careful to keep critical skills at peak. I find that I fail to reach meditation if my skill falls behind. Also you must keep your Learn skill at max or you'll burn practices.
